El origen real de
Ya no sólo en latín, en español orco es también un término aplicado al infierno. Sin embargo, Tolkien dijo haber tomado la palabra del inglés antiguo, orc=demonio.
O sea, que los orcos viven en el orco.

sin embargo el ingles, tanto antiguo como moderno, es una lengua que como la española, deriva del latin, asi que no es raro que en ambas lenguas la palabra orco tenga el mismo o parecido significado
