Earnur ha explicado bien, a mi parecer. Los Sabios son sabios y prudentes y aunque sean capaces de resistir ese temor, no infravaloran el poder de los nazgul, por otra parte los más poderosos de los sirvientes de Sauron. Sólo los enfrentan por necesidad, como Glorfindel (aunque para éste, unos espectros después de enfentar a un balrog...)

Los Sabios son prudentes, y además, en la segunda se recalca en el enfrentamiento con los nueve a la vez, y con el Rey Brujo a la cabeza... es cuando son más poderosos.
