He leído esto sobre la espada de Arwen, y me gustaría saber si es verdad o se lo inventaron para la peli Y si es verdad, ¿en qué libro lo mencionan?

Hadhafang means Throng-cleaver, and is the sword of Arwen. It once belonged to the Elven princess Idril, who wed a mortal man and bore Earendil, the father of Elrond who in turn was father to Arwen. Before Arwen’s birth Elrond wielded Hadhafang at the end of the second age, during the Last Alliance of Elves and Men in the great battle against Sauron. Inscribed on the blade are runes in the Elven language of Sindarin that say “aen estar Hadhafang i chathol hen, thand arod dan i thang an i arwen.” This translates to “this blade is called Hadhafang, a noble defense against the enemy throng for a noble lady.”

Hadhafang significa *noseque*, y es la espada de Arwen. Hace tiempo perteneció a la princesa elfa Idril, que se casó con un hombre mortal y dio a luz a Earendil, el padre de Elrond que a su vez fue el padre de Arwen. Antes del nacimiento de Arwen, Elrond blandió Hadhafang al final de la Segunda Edad, durante la Última Alianza de Elfos y Hombres en la gran batalla contra Sauron. Inscritas en la hoja hay runas en Sindarin que dicen " ....." . Esto significa "esta espada se llama Hadhafang, una noble defensa frente al cuchillo enemigo para una noble dama".
